The beginner's problem is not lack of information — it is wrong order: jumping to Order Blocks before reading market structure, backtesting before having a system.
This is the 4-phase roadmap in the correct order — follow it from zero to prop-firm-exam-ready in 12-18 months without getting lost.
Phase 1 — Foundations (months 1-2)
The basics that must be solid before anything else: 1. What is Forex? — how the market works, who the players are 2. Major / Minor / Exotic pairs — start with majors only 3. TradingView setup — FX, Gold and BTC watchlists 4. Pick a broker + open a Demo — practice free before risking capital 5. Pips, Lots, Spread & Leverage — the math of every position 6. Trading Sessions — Sydney, London, New York
Phase goal: open a demo and be able to *read every number on the screen*.
Phase 2 — Price structure + classic tools (months 3-5)
The phase that builds your eyes: 1. Market Structure — HH, HL, LH, LL is the first language you must speak 2. Candlesticks & Chart Patterns 3. Trendlines, Support & Resistance 4. The pivot is item 5 — once you see that a "failed breakout" was a stop hunt, you are ready for Phase 3.

The phase that separates *knowing* from *earning*: 1. Risk Management — 0.5-1% per trade, no exceptions 2. Trading Psychology — the plan vs the emotions 3. Risk-to-Reward — never below 1:2 4. Trading Journal — log every trade (our Journal tool) 5. Multi-Timeframe Analysis — HTF bias → LTF entry 6. Backtest 1-2 years of data — prove the system before real money

How long does it really take to trade well?+
Following the roadmap: 12-18 months to "prop-firm-exam ready" with 1-2 hours of study + practice daily. The biggest accelerator is backtesting (Phase 4, item 6) — traders who log 500+ backtested trades improve 3-4x faster than YouTube-only learners. Beware anyone selling "rich in 3 months" — it does not exist.
Can I skip straight to SMC?+
You can skip indicators (Phase 2 item 4 is "know of them" only), but never skip market structure, S/R and liquidity — those three are the floor SMC stands on. Someone who learns Order Blocks without reading HH/HL marks OBs all over the chart at random. The roadmap order exists precisely to prevent that.
How much capital should I start with?+
