Every review and ranking on TradingEdge is written by a team with verified credentials in finance and active prop-firm trading. This page explains the criteria, sources, and disclosures behind every ranking — so you can decide on evidence, not vibes.

Ranking criteria
We score every broker and prop firm across six dimensions:
Tier-1 (FCA / ASIC / CySEC / FSCA / DFSA) carry the most weight; offshore-only licenses (FSC SVG, Belize) are weighted down.
Trustpilot, MyFXBook, public payout proof, years in business — payout reliability is the single biggest signal.
All-in cost (spread + commission), swap, deposit/withdrawal fees — compared on equivalent round-turn pricing.
Drawdown rules, scaling plans, prohibited strategies — must be unambiguous and published.
We sign up, deposit, withdraw, and file claims ourselves. Anything that fails the live test gets penalised, regardless of marketing claims.
Cross-checked against regulator notices, Forex Peace Army, Reddit r/Forex / r/PropFirms, plus Thai-trader Discord and Telegram channels.

How often we update
Broker pricing — spreads, leverage, fees — changes constantly. We refresh primary data every 30 days. Major re-rankings happen every 90 days when new firms launch or regulations shift. The "last updated" date on every page reflects this.
Editorial independence
Three hard rules: (1) no flat cash from any broker — only performance-based commission, (2) no firm can buy a top placement, (3) if a partner misbehaves, we drop them immediately. We removed three partner firms in 2024 after problems emerged — contact us for the list.
