Truth #1 — Your Entry Won't Keep You Alive

Watch yourself for a moment — when you watch a trading video on YouTube, what do you search for most?

"Accurate entry" · "high win-rate setup" · "the indicator that never fails"

That is what 90% of beginners focus on — and it is exactly why 90% of them do not survive.

Here is a truth that runs against your instinct: the entry is the least important part of trading.

Follow the math with me. Suppose I hand you a system with a 70% win rate — that is genuinely good. But you have no risk management — you risk 20% of your account per trade.

A 70% system means 30% of trades lose — and statistically, a run of 5 losses in a row WILL happen if you trade long enough.

Losing 20% five times in a row = more than half the account gone.

A brilliant 70% system can still kill you — without armor.

Now flip it. Suppose I give you a system with just a 45% win rate (far worse), but tight risk management: never lose more than 1% per trade, R:R of 1:2.

45% win rate + 1:2 R:R → out of 100 trades: 45 wins × 2R = +90R · 55 losses × 1R = −55R · net +35R.

The "worse" system — with armor — actually makes money.

This is the first lesson I want burned into your head:

> "You don't rise to the level of your entries. You fall to the level of your risk management."

In the market you are not judged by your best trade — you are judged by your worst one. How big will your worst trade be? That is the question a pro asks before every entry, not "will this one win?"

Paul Tudor Jones, a legendary trader, said: "Don't focus on making money — focus on protecting what you have." He is not saying "don't seek profit" — he is saying the priority must be in the right order: protect capital first, profit second.

Beginners think risk management is "the thing that makes me earn less." Wrong. Risk management is the only thing that keeps you in the game long enough for your edge to work.
