Stage 1 — Foundation: Learn and Build a System

You have cleared Stage 0 — you have accepted the truth and aimed right · Stage 1 is getting to work building the "foundation" · this stage takes roughly months 1-3.

The foundation has 3 pillars — drop any one and the house falls.

Pillar 1 — the basic knowledge (know what you are doing)

You must understand the mechanics of trading thoroughly — what forex is, pip/lot/spread/leverage, reading a candlestick chart, the trading orders (SL/TP).

If you are not solid on this — read the "Forex 101" ebook to the end first · do not move on yet · this pillar is the ground everything else stands on.

Pillar 2 — pick a "style" and build a "system"

This is the heart of Stage 1 · most beginners have "no system" — they trade on feeling, on news, on the YouTube video they just watched · and something that changes every day cannot be measured, and cannot be improved.

Step 1 — pick one style · will you be a swing trader (holding across days) or a day trader (in and out within the day)? · which pairs? · which approach — naked Price Action, or Smart Money Concept? · pick one and focus · a beginner who tries everything at once = good at nothing.

Step 2 — write the system as "rules" · a good system answers these 5 questions as clear rules: - what to trade, where, when - enter when which conditions are all met - where the Stop Loss goes - where the Take Profit goes - what % to risk per trade (the answer is 1%)

Pillar 3 — the foundation of mind and risk

A painful truth — most traders do not lose because "the system was bad" · they lose because they "could not follow the system" — fear, greed, revenge, FOMO.

In Stage 1 you must lay this foundation too: - Risk Management — the 1% rule, position sizing · (the "Risk Management" ebook) - Psychology — FOMO, revenge trading, discipline · (the "Trading Psychology" ebook) - Mindset — understanding variance, thinking in probabilities · (the "Mindset" ebook)

Do not overlook these 3 — they are what make you able to "follow the system" · and being able to follow the system matters more than the system itself.

Stage 1 completion checklist — you are ready for Stage 2 when: You understand the full basics (pip/lot/SL/TP/reading a chart) You have picked one style and you focus on it You have a system written as rules on one page — someone else can read it and understand You understand the 1% rule and the basics of psychology

The trap of Stage 1 — "Setup Hopping"

A beginner learns System A for a week, sees a YouTube video about System B, drops A · the next week they find System C · they keep switching — never letting any system "stay long enough to know whether it works."

Pick one system, and stay with it long enough to judge it by data — not by boredom.
